Welcome to Our Nest.

Little Scholars Nest Preschool and Afterschool has been providing early education and childcare to families in the San Ramon Valley since 2007, and our first batch of Little Scholars are headed to college next Fall.

We are grateful to have been serving our community for over 14 years and recently completed renovations while closed due to the pandemic. We reopened our newly built facility on August 10, 2021.

Our preschool is licensed by the State of California.

  • Nominated for 2012 Readers Choice Award ‘Best Preschool in San Ramon’ by the San Ramon Patch

  • Our graduates excel in academics at formal school with some being the first few students to skip kindergarten and advance to first grade in our school district

  • We introduce Little Scholars to various topics outside of the primary classroom including gymnastics, dance, gardening, yoga, sports, public speaking, and stage performances

  • Nutrition of body and mind is a special focus of our program, with that we offer healthy organic breakfast, lunch, and snacks prepared daily in our own preschool kitchen

We are now enrolling for Fall 2022 Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten. Please submit our Contact Us form to schedule a tour and begin learning more about Fall enrollment. If you are looking to join earlier than Summer 2022, you are welcome to join our waitlist.

We are very excited to begin our 16th school year on August 1st, 2022 and at the same time we are filled with enthusiasm for our first batch of preschoolers from 2007 starting their college journey!

Our Little Scholars stand out.

Structured Reading Program for Growing Scholars

Our carefully designed reading program introduces your Little Scholars to complex reading concepts at a steady pace making them advanced readers by the time they leave the nest for kindergarten.

Extracurricular Engagement for Building Creative Imaginations

Outside of preschool learning, your little one will have exposure to dance, gymnastics, computer skills, and art and crafts which gives them the unique opportunity to begin exploring hobbies and interests at a young age.

Our Nest is a Home Away from Home

Our group of Little Scholars and teachers bond closely every year growing together in personality and academic development. Here at Little Scholars Nest, your child will develop a bond with their classmates and teachers that will last for a lifetime.

Here’s how we compare to large preschool / afterschool centers:

California Living

We are grateful to be in the sunny Golden State of California.

Our preschool is designed with outdoor-indoor architecture elements and is surrounded by a canopy of nature.

Your Little Scholars will spend as much time as they do indoors outdoors as well, exploring our preschool garden, nearby parks, and going on weekly nature walks.

Depending on the season, your Little One may be bring home a basket of fruits from one of our many fruit trees!

“I could fill this entire book full of words and still not be able to fully express how much you all have meant to Nikki and our entire family, Little Scholars Nest is truly a “home” school for us because I feel like Nikki is in school every day with family! [..] we promise to visit from time to time since we will miss you all so much! You are all amazing people and great teachers.”

Learning to empower sustainability.

At Little Scholars Nest Preschool, we believe learning how to care for your planet is a crucial pillar in early education. Our preschool prioritizes sustainability by offering plant-based milk options through our Almond Cow, using non-toxic cookware from Caraway, and non-toxic, BPA-free mealtime utensils from The Saturday Baby.

Further: caring for our preschool garden, learning about Earth Day, and building the basic building blocks for loving nature and caring for this beautiful planet Earth we call home.

Our school also prioritizes supporting small businesses such as our Loomwell Wallpaper and The Saturday Baby utensils.

“Gentle, loving, caring, home away from home…”

Parent Testimonials

Hear from our wonderful parents regarding their experience with their Little Scholars. We have testimonials saved since our very first graduation ceremony in 2008.

“Dear [teachers], we are very pleased with the progress made by Karen over the 2 1/2 years that she has been with little scholars nest. The teachers are very caring and compassionate and have built a trusted relationship with our daughter. the preschool and pre-K program is structured very well to cater to the needs of the child and has prepared her for the kindergarten program, helps with reading, math, crafts, show and tell, dance, music, gymnastics, Halloween, and Christmas performances. All of these had helped a daughter to be a well-rounded child ready for kindergarten with confidence. Their focus on public speaking has helped our daughter to get out of her comfort zone and speak in front of an audience. My daughter is happy and engaged, and we can see this when she comes home and talks about school. With both parents working full time, we were looking for a place that not only provides a great education but is also caring, and treats kids with respect and kindness. We truly have a peace of mind knowing that our daughter is in such great hands that will treat our daughter like their own. I believe that it would be hard to find a more caring environment that provides the opportunity for children to thrive and reach their full potential. Thank you little scholars nest.”
