Programs Offered

Our program is a unique blend of the Montessori way of learning and an academic based environment. In order to foster all aspects of age-appropriate development, each day at Little Scholars Nest Preschool is planned to reflect a balance of both individual confidence and group exposure, outdoor/indoor activities, active/quiet activities, free play, and structured/guided exercises. Our aim is to blossom a child’s personality in every aspect. We are dedicated to providing each child with fun, challenging activities that engage the imagination and enhance cognitive skills through play and hands-on activities.

Program Highlights

  • Our Little Scholars participate in various public speaking activities including weekly classroom “Show and Tell” & stage exposure and confidence building by our dance program leading up to the annual dance performance.
  • Children learn to overcome fears and gain strength through our optional weekly fitness program offered by California Gymnastics.
  • Once the foundation for English is strengthed, we introduced young minds to a foreign language: Spanish in order to broaden their views of different languages and cultures.
  • We have various year-round celebrations such a: Winter Holidays Celebration, Easter Carnival, Diwali, Sports Day, Pajama Days, Chinese New Year, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Earth Day, Christmas, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Nature Walks, Birthday Celebrations and much more!

Pre-School Program

The preschool group is for children of ages three to four.

We are dedicated to providing each child with fun, challenging activities that engage the imagination and enhance cognitive skills through play and hands-on activities. Our preschool group develops the skills needed to understand and appreciate the world around them. They are introduced to early Language Arts and Math concepts of letters, letter sounds, uppercase/lowercase letters, as well as numbers, colors, shapes, and phonics.

We focus on developing the following skills:

Pre-Kindergarten Program

The pre-kindergarten group is for children of ages four to five.

This program focuses on school readiness by introducing children to specific academic subjects through hands-on activities, teacher instruction, and class discussions. Our way of teaching incorporates child-directed activities which instills the love of learning in our Little Scholars.

Phonics, decoding, sight words, blending, story comprehension, and journal writing are all part of our language arts program. We also have a very successful Reading Program, which incorporates “Story Time” and puppet plays to soar your child’s imagination.

Additionally, we introduce math concepts of counting, sorting, number words, addition, subtraction, time, money, shapes, estimation, counting by twos and fives, and much more are taught using fun activities as well as part of our written work packets. Science is part of our monthly curriculum and most of our Show and Tell topics are based on the science theme of the week. Concepts of: touch & senses, plants & animals, the human body, daily calendar (weather, date, and time), the solar system, and the study of our planet Earth, etc. are introduced. We incorporate nature walks and park visits as a part of learning scientific facts.

After-School Program

The after-school program is for kindergarteners and transitional kindergarten. This includes children of ages four to five.

Students are picked up from their respective elementary schools and participate in lunchtime upon arrival, which is followed by outdoor playtime. In the daily schedule, students will have to work with teachers on their homework and existential academic learning. Students in this program also participate in the daily naptime and evening creative activities.

Pre-School Part-Time

The preschool part-time program runs Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at $850.00 per month.

Pre-Kindergarten Part-Time

The preschool part-time program runs Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at $850.00 per month.

After-School Full-Time

The full-time program runs Monday to Friday from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm at $750.00 per month.

Pre-School Full-Time

The full-time program runs Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at $1,250.00 per month.

Pre-Kindergarten Full-Time

The full-time program runs Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at $1,095.00 per month.
